Back for its second year, the Chip Away at Cancer is our rally’s new rolling adventure. This activity is part ride, part game, and part fundraiser! Proceeds from this event will directly benefit our chosen charities, which are dedicated to providing care, resources, and hope to cancer patients and their families. Whether you’re competitive, curious, or just along for the ride, Chip Away is the perfect way to add extra fun to your rally experience.
So, fuel up, hit the road, and help us Chip Away at Cancer — one ride, one chip, one life at a time! Let’s make a difference together.
Here’s how it works:
You will be given a list of 5 destinations, within the surrounding area. Visit each designated location within the four(4) hour time frame Saturday 10:00AM to 2:00PM, and collect a colorful poker-style chip from a MAWMR volunteer stationed at each location. The chip values will be revealed during the Saturday evening event. The rider with the most valuable collection wins an exciting prize!
When:
June 20th, 2026 – Saturday, 10:00AM-2:00PM
Where:
Selected locations across the Gettysburg vicinity. You will receive the list of destinations prior to the rally and are responsible for mapping your preferred route to each destination.
Helpful Tips Before You Roll:
1) Plot out your preferred route ahead of time.
2) If riding in a group, have a pre-ride safety meeting.
3) NO need for major highways, all stops can be accessed via local roads.
4) Although this is NOT a race, you must acquire all your chips between 10:00AM and 2:00PM.
5) Head out early to be at your first stop by 10:00AM. You must pick up your last chip no later than 2:00PM.
6) A MAWMR volunteer, wearing a hi-vis vest, will be situated at each location – either outside or immediately inside each establishment.
Enjoy stopping, strolling or shopping, but be mindful of your time.
